Theaccent.org Comment Policy Agreement

The Accent promotes civil discussion and debate about issues presented both in the newspaper and on theaccent.org.

 
User comments are approved at the discretion of theaccent.org staff. Comments will not be approved instantly, but staff will strive to moderate and approve them in a timely manner. By submitting a comment, the user agrees to allow The Accent to print the username and comment in the newspaper and elsewhere.
 
By submitting a comment on theaccent.org, the user agrees to abide by the following rules:
 
1.    The user agrees to not submit inappropriate comments. Inappropriate comments include but are not limited to content that:

a.    Violates copyright, trademark or intellectual property laws

b.    Is pornographic, obscene or sexually explicit

c.     Violates local, state, national or international laws

d.    Contains advertising, or any solicitation regarded as spam

e.    Degrades others on the basis of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity or religion

f.     Impersonates others

g.    Is libelous or defamatory

2.    The user bears full responsibility for comments posted on theaccent.org. The user will notify The Accent if he or she discovers a comment violates these rules.

3.   The user understands that a violation of comment rules can result in the suspension of the user's account and could be subject to further investigation.
