As a conclusion to the Date to Mate series presented by Student Life, there
was a taped talk show and a staged Dating Game in the Northridge campus
auditorium on Feb. 12.

Host Tim Swain informed the audience that Hasani Pettiford, the scheduled
host for the event, couldn't attend because his flight had been canceled. Swain moderated the event in his absence.

A panel of students answered questions that were pre-taped, and then fielded
questions from the audience as well.  Audience members were also allowed to
give their own responses to the question that were asked.

Some of the questions were about topics such as how to get over your ex, and how to make a long term relationship work.

One of the chosen audience questions was "What do I do when I like someone of the same sex, but someone of the opposite sex likes me?"

After the question and answer portion was finished, the set was quickly retooled  for the dating game portion.

Three bachelors and three bachelorettes answered questions from two contestants that were seated behind a blind.

The female contestant asked her bachelors to sing for her, and the male contestant asked what type of a meal the bachelorettes would cook for him.

After both contestants made their choices it was announced that, as a prize for being on the show, they were being given movies tickets and tickets to attend the sixth annual Spit Fest on Feb 20.

"I'm really glad I came, the game show part was fun to watch," said Northridge student Davis Snyder.

Various door prizes were given out to students that attended the event, as well as bags for VIPs.
