ACC has announced that the closure of the Pinnacle campus has been extended through Wednesday, Oct. 21. The college plans to re-open the campus on Thursday, Oct. 22.

The Pinnacle campus will be closed through Sunday, Oct.18.

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, there was a small electrical fire in the mechanical room on the ninth floor. Some of the equipment in that room will need to be replaced.

The building will remain closed, while these repairs are being made, for the safety of the students and staff that go there.

"The fire was confined to one electrical box in the mechanical room. We have to wait on the new part to come in. That's the reason for the delay," Media Relations Coordinator Alexis Patterson said.

All other ACC campuses will continue to run as normal.

"I assume that teachers will communicate with students as they normally would for a regular canceled class," Patterson said.

The College home page is being updated as the electrical crews continue to assess the damage.

Pinnacle is scheduled to reopen for class on Monday.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.
