Austin Community College students received a treat from "The Cosmic Cowboy" Bob Livingston on April 8 at the outside patio of Rio Grande Campus. In part with ACC's Honors Program, Livingston performed an intimate and personable concert on a bright, sunny afternoon.
With sharing chronicles in between sets of his time traveling all over the world, Livingston's songs were musical journals documenting his different experiences with the various countries he visited as well as the musicians he's performed with. He encouraged audience participation with sing-a-longs and clapping hands as well as incorporating "Austin Community College" within his lyrics as if the songs were written for us.
At first, the crowd was scarce as classes were still going on, however, the patio started to fill once people coming out of class overheard Livingston's music in the air.
ACC student Wesley Este happened to walk by the courtyard after he heard music. However, at first listen, he wasn't impressed, but upon listening some more, he decided to stick around and listen to Livingston's set.
"I heard some of his inflection so that made it a little bit more original," said Este. "I was impressed."
