The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded ACC with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The award is in response to ACC's annual fiscal report for 2009. This is GFOA's highest honor for governmental accounting and financial reporting. ACC has been recognized by this organization for the last seven years.
In a statement issued by ACC, executive vice president for finance and administration Ben Ferrell explained that the certificate "is an important indicator of ACC's dedication to openness and transparency in financial reporting."
He went on to say that "ACC is committed to complying with the highest standards of accounting and reporting for public colleges and universities."
