The Peruvian Consulate in Houston has chosen Austin Community College and its El Centro Latino/Latin American Studies Center to host "The Inca Trail: Qhapaq Ñan, El Gran Camino Inca," an exhibit of 80 photos that comprise the Inca Trail Exhibition, April 29-May 3.

The exhibit pictorially documents the architecture and engineering of the 500-year-old, 5,300 mile route that follows the spine of South America's Andes Mountains and linked the Inca Empire from southern Columbia to central Chile. Admission is free from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the ACC Eastview Campus, Room 8500, Building 8000, 3401 Webberville Road.

"ACC is honored to be the only Texas stop for the exhibit and the first stop in the exhibit's itinerary throughout the United States," said Dr. Richard Armenta, ACC associate vice president for Student Success. "The exhibit underscores the College's commitment to diversity, cultural enlightenment, and strong relationships with the communities we serve."

ACC is hosting the exhibit in collaboration with the City of Austin, the Austin-Lima Committee of the Sister Cities Program, Consul General Eduardo V. Rivoldi of the Peruvian Consulate in Texas, and the Austin Independent School District (AISD). The exhibit will incorporate an array of presentations and cultural learning activities for 5th graders from the following AISD elementary schools located near the Eastview Campus: Oak Springs, Govalle and Zavala.
