New location for fire academy? There is a proposed transfer of the far away Taylor fire academy to a new AFD training center with easy access to the I-35 corridor. The move is expected to cost up to half a million dollars and will bring the academy within the ACC service area. The school hopes to save money and ease the academy's communication troubles.
Another clean audit An audit required by the Texas Higher Education code gives ACC a "clean" opinion as of August 31st, 2006. The audit finds that all statements provided by the college accurately present the financial position of the District.
Gas extractors on campus An active gas extraction system was installed at Eastview to remove underground methane gas after state and city initiated environmental reviews of former landfill sites.
Parking garage at Rio Grande Scarce parking has led staff to contact landowners to see if ACC can acquire space to build a parking garage.
Photography studio Design work on the photography studios is underway at the Northridge campus. This will allow the transfer of the Pinnacle studios and ease some ventilation issues there.
